Getafe will be keen to get back on track following a run of four matches without a win in La Liga as they’ve experienced defeats to Sevilla, Barcelona and Eibar along with a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano last weekend.
This recent poor run of results has seen Getafe drop down the league table to fifth from bottom and just one point ahead of Las Palmas who occupy the last remaining relegation spot. Getafe’s last win was incidentally against Las Palmas in a 4-0 home win, but their form on home turf has dwindled since then.
The hosts’ home record stands at 3-1-2 10/5, but they will be tested to the limit here today as they come up against a Villarreal outfit who are looking to reduce the gap on Real Madrid and move up into one of the Champions League spots.
Onto Villarreal then, and as mentioned they sit in a handy fourth position in the Spanish top flight and come into today’s match on the back of a 1-0 home win over Rapid Vienna in the Europa League which will bring them confidence for this lunch-time clash.
On the domestic front, Villarreal have earned just one win from their last six in La Liga which was a 2-1 home win over Sevilla, but this sequence also includes three defeats to Levante, Celta Vigo and Barcelona respectively.
Away from home, Villarreal have posted an equal 2-2-2 5/6 and they’ve gone three matches without a win on their travels, but they’ve also previously posted wins at Granada and Malaga who are placed near today’s opponents Getafe at the bottom end of the division.
I sense a bit of value with backing Villarreal with the draw no bet option here, and they might nick this perhaps 1-0.
