Gillingham to overpower Cod Army

League One/Two Tips

GILLINGHAM v FLEETWOOD TOWN

Tuesday 29th September 2015 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Football – England – League One Betting Tips

Gillingham have recently lost back-to-back away matches at Colchester United and Barnsley respectively, so no doubt The Gills will be looking forward to a return to their Priestfield Stadium ground for tonight’s clash with bottom half outfit Fleetwood Town.

Gillingham have enjoyed a very successful start to their new League One campaign particularly on home turf where they still possess a 100% record with an overall home record of  4-0-0  9/1 having dispatched Sheffield United 4-0, Wigan Athletic 2-0, Doncaster Rovers 1-0 and Blackpool 2-1.

Interestingly, the latter three teams have been playing at least a league above if not higher (in Wigan and Blackpool’s case) in recent times, so Gillingham deserve their current league standing of third place so far.

Visitors Fleetwood Town have been on the end of some disappointing results lately as they’ve now gone five matches without a win in League One which includes defeats to Doncaster Rovers, Wigan Athletic and Port Vale.

The Cod Army have taken a point apiece against Rochdale and Bradford City recently but both of these results were achieved at their Highbury Stadium ground, while away from home, they’ve struggled as their overall record of  1-0-3  5/8 shows.

Just the solitary win at Bury in a 4-3 win for Fleetwood has been their return so far on their travels and incidentally, Fleetwood have conceded in each of their last five away matches and have failed to score in four of their last seven on the road.

I’m leaning towards a Gillingham win therefore, as I expect them to bounce back at Priestfield with perhaps a 2-1 win.
