Gillingham should edge Rochdale at Priestfield

League One/Two Tips

GILLINGHAM v ROCHDALE

Football – England – League One Betting Tips

Despite back-to-back defeats away from home in League One, Gillingham remain in second place in the division, three points behind leaders Coventry City going into tonight’s clash with mid-table Rochdale.

Gillingham will therefore be keen to reduce this three-point deficit on the Sky Blues with a home fixture at their Priestfield Stadium, particularly when you consider that The Gills still remain unbeaten on home turf so far this season.

An intimidating record of  7-2-0  23/8 confronts tonight’s visitors Rochdale as the hosts have recently accounted for Bury (last time out on home turf), while their record over bottom half teams at home stands at a solid  3-1-0  11/5. In addition, Gillingham have scored in each of their last twelve matches at home, and are unbeaten during this sequence.

Rochdale ended their run of seven league matches without a win on Saturday afternoon when they took all three points in a 2-0 win away at bottom half outfit Doncaster Rovers, but they’re expected to be up against it this evening against one of the best teams at home in the division.

Rochdale’s away record stands at  2-4-3  10/10 but they are unbeaten in their last three matches on the road as they’ve gained points at Bury and Southend United in 0-0 and 2-2 draws respectively, along with claiming the points at Doncaster.

However, Rochdale are still looking for an away win against top half opposition after five previous attempts have resulted in three draws and two defeats.

You may want to keep the draw on your side as far as possible whilst taking the hosts Gillingham, so I advise giving the quarter-ball on The Gills tonight.
