Borussia Moenchengladbach registered a very useful 3-1 win in the first leg of their Champions League play-off tie away at Swiss outfit Young Boys last week, and they’ll now be looking to finish the job at their Stadion im BORUSSIA-PARK on Wednesday night in the return leg.
The result was made that much more impressive as it was ‘gladbach’s first competitive match of their new season, which they then followed up with a 1-0 win away at Regionalliga outfit Drochtersen/Assel in the DFB Cup first round on the weekend.

Visitors Young Boys have their work cut out on Wednesday night in Germany if they’re to progress through to the group stages of the Champions League following a 3-1 defeat at home in last week’s first leg in Bern.
However, the visitors will take heart from their subsequent Swiss Super League match on Saturday following an emphatic 7-2 home win over Lausanne Sports and they’ll need to have their goalscoring boots on again on Wednesday night if they’re to overhaul this two-goal deficit that Borussia Moenchengladbach currently hold.
However, history is not on Young Boys’ side as they prepare for their trip to Germany as they’ve lost four of their five Champions League matches away from home with defeats at Crvena 3-0, Tottenham 4-0, Monaco 4-0 and Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0.
