Grasshopper have started their season in positive fashion as they steered their way into the next round of the Europa League stages with a 5-4 aggregate win over Iceland outfit KR Reykjavik to progress to the next round.
They start their domestic Swiss Super League season on Sunday afternoon against Lausanne Sport at their Stadion Letzigrund in Zurich as they look to go a step better than their last season’s finish of fourth place in the Swiss top flight.

Visitors Lausanne Sport achieved promotion from the Challenge League at the end of last season at a canter as they finished 11 points ahead of second placed Neuchatel Xamax to secure their place in the Swiss top flight for this campaign.
Their last experience at this level ended in relegation as they ended their last campaign in horrific fashion as they lost seven of their last nine matches overall, while their last two visits to Grasshopper ended in defeat with 2-0 and 2-1 losses respectively.
History is therefore not with the visitors here this afternoon and I’m expecting the hosts to grab all three points here today to get their campaign off to a winning start, particularly having started their competitive season already in the Europa League.
