GRIMSBY TOWN v GATESHEAD

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Grimsby Town were held to a fourth stalemate in their last five matches on the weekend when they drew 1-1 at home with National League leaders Forest Green Rovers and they’ve had a tough run of fixtures lately, particularly at home in recent weeks.

Nevertheless, Grimsby head into tonight’s encounter with fourth placed Gateshead on the back of seven matches without defeat and they sit in 10th place following a solid showing at Blundell Park where they’ve lost just once so far this season.

Grimsby’s overall home record stands at  3-3-1  16/9 and they’ve entertained Tranmere Rovers and Forest Green Rovers in their last two matches on home turf, recording 1-1 draws against both teams.

Visitors Gateshead were on the end of a 3-2 loss at home to Dover Athletic on Saturday but they still occupy one of the early play-off spots despite this loss as their away form has been most impressive this season.

Gateshead have won five of their first seven away matches in this new campaign with an overall record of  5-1-1  10/7 under their belts which includes wins over Aldershot, Southport, Guiseley, Eastleigh and most impressive of all, Forest Green Rovers.

The Heed have also failed to score just once so far on their travels in the National League and they’ll be confident of getting something in Cleethorpes tonight given their run of form on their travels.

Both teams seem set to cancel each other out but I fancy both to also score here in what perhaps could be a 1-1 draw.
