Shaymen draw Cards

National League Tips

Football – England – Conference Premier

Sunday 16th November 2014 – Kickoff: 1400hrs

Halifax Town will once again be looking forward to returning to their beloved Shay ground this afternoon following a couple of ordinary results on the road where they drew at Wrexham and lost 0-1 at Grimsby Town.

Rather predictably, The Shaymen lost a bit of ground as their away form continues to splutter along, but this afternoon they have home advantage once again with an overall record of  6-2-1  21/9 behind them as they look to break into the top five of the Conference Premier.

Recent results overall have dropped somewhat for the west Yorkshire outfit as they’ve won just once in their last six league matches which was a 2-0 home win over Kidderminster but their usual home dominance has been less ruthless in recent times as they’ve been held to draws by Grimsby and Wrexham and even lost to Altrincham 1-3 which was certainly a shock result.

Visitors Woking continue to defy their critics (if there are any) as they currently sit in an impressive 5th place and occupy one of the play-off positions heading into today’s clash at The Shay.

Woking have lost just once in their last six league matches and seem to have returned to the kind of form they were in earlier in the season prior to a dramatic dip in form which saw them lose three on the trot to Torquay United, Bristol Rovers and Kidderminster.

But The Cardinals have shown they’re made of tougher stuff this season as they’ve bounced back with wins against Nuneaton Town, Southport and Altrincham along with getting a point at Braintree Town. The Cards’ away record stands at a solid  5-2-2  15/8 and they’ve kept three clean sheets on their travels so far.

Halifax have been surprisingly off-colour recently at The Shay and whilst Woking may not win here this afternoon, I reckon they’re worth a bet to get a point today against a Halifax side who may not be at the top of their form right now on home turf. This could be perhaps a 1-1 draw.
