HEARTS v HAMILTON

Football – Scotland – Premiership Betting Tips

Hearts captured a third successive win in the Scottish Premiership last weekend with a resounding 4-0 thrashing over Patrick Thistle away from home, and they’ll be looking to extend their winning streak to four matches on the trot with the visit of Hamilton at Tyncastle Stadium this afternoon.

Hearts had also registered wins over Dundee United and Ross County earlier, and they now sit in second place to predictable league leaders Celtic with a six-point deficit to make up. It seems unlikely even at this early stage in the season that Hearts will be able to overhaul Celtic at the top of the division, but if they retain their strong home form then they’ll be in the frame for a european spot.

Hearts’ home record stands at  4-1-1  13/7 and they’ve lost just twice on home turf in their last 11 home matches at Tynecastle, along with holding a 2-0-1  7/6 record over top half opposition at home so far this season.

Hamilton currently occupy 6th place and a Championship round berth as things stand before this weekend’s round of matches, but there’s a thin line between Championship and Relegation standings right now as they hold a slender one point lead over 7th placed Dundee.

Hamilton’s cause isn’t helped by having to make the trip to Hearts this Saturday having now gone four matches without a win in the Premiership following draws with Dundee and Patrick Thistle and defeats against Celtic and St Johnstone.

Hamilton’s away record stands at  2-1-3  6/9 but perhaps more telling is their record away from home at top half opposition which reads a below-par  1-0-2  3/6.

Whilst I’m tempted to go for a straight Hearts win here, I’ll hold back a bit and give the quarter-ball on the hosts as it is a top half clash after all.
