Helsingborg gained a useful point last time out in the Swedish Allsvenskan when they held Jonkoping to a 1-1 draw away from home, and they now return to Olympia for tonight’s home encounter with Ostersund as 7th placed takes on 8th.
Helsingborg have suffered just one defeat from their last six matches overall in the Swedish top flight which was a heavy 3-0 loss away at Norrkoping, but Norrkoping currently sit top of the league so Helsingborg won’t be too downhearted.
Tonight’s hosts have won their last three on the trot on home turf with victories over Falkenberg, AIK and Malmo amidst an overall record of 3-0-1 8/6 and the home side have won four of their last six in this division.
Visitors Ostersund head into tonight’s encounter following recent back-to-back wins over Kalmar and Gothenborg, but it should be noted that both of these victories were recorded at their Jämtkraft Arena where they’ve won three and lost two so far this season.
Away from home, Ostersund have registered a win, two draws and a defeat in their overall record of 1-2-1 3/5 but they’ve failed to score in their last two on the road with a 0-0 draw away at second from bottom club Gefle and losing 3-0 at Djurgarden.
Ostersund have recently been promoted from the Superettan, and while they’re finding their feet, I daresay they’ll be far more comfortable on home turf during this campaign as they look to consolidate their top flight status.
It’s the round ball on the hosts here for me.
