Middlesbrough to continue strong form over 'lesser' teams

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN v MIDDLESBROUGH

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Huddersfield Town have dropped down the Championship league table to fourth from bottom following some poor results which has seen them now occupy just one league position above the relegation pack.

Former manager Chris Powell has since been sacked and replaced by the joint managership of Wagner and Lillis, but these sort of set-ups rarely become a success and The Terriers are in disarray right now. Huddersfield have now gone five league matches without a win and they’ve actually lost four of their last five matches with only a draw against Reading saving their blushes.

But recent defeats to Derby County, Burnley, Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday suggest that they could well be facing another defeat square in the face this afternoon against a strong Middlesbrough outfit.

Onto Middlesbrough then, and Karanka’s side bounced back with a win last weekend when they took the points in a last-gasp victory over QPR last Friday night, following a heavy 3-0 loss away at Hull City the week before.

Middlesbrough moved up to third place on the back of those vital points and are now just two points adrift of joint Championship league leaders Hull City and Brighton going into this weekend’s round of fixtures.

However, they’ll no doubt be keen to improve upon their ordinary-looking away record which stands at  3-2-3  9/10 as they’ve lost three of their last four matches on the road – incidentally, Boro possess a strong record though away at bottom half teams with a record of  8-1-1  18/3, so this will give them belief that they can get something in West Yorkshire today.

I’ll therefore back Middlesbrough and give the quarter-ball here.
