HUDDERSFIELD v MILLWALL – Pick: 2 AH+0.5 – 27 September 2014

Lions to make their point against Terriers

Championship Tips

Football – England – Championship

Saturday 27th September 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Third from bottom in the Championship, Huddersfield Town, will go in search of their first home win of the season when they entertain Millwall at their John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon after a string of five matches without a league win.

Huddersfield have actually registered an away win at Reading earlier in the season with a 2-1 win, but their form on home turf has been poor so far this term as they’ve suffered defeats at the hands of Bournemouth 0-4 and Middlesbrough 1-2 along with single point hauls against Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic in 1-1 and 0-0 draws respectively.

New manager and former Charlton boss, Chris Powell, has taken over the reigns of Mark Robins who left after just a handful of games and The Terriers currently occupy one of the bottom three places in the relegation drop-zone.

Huddersfield’s overall home record stands at  0-2-2  2/7 and they’ve kept just one clean sheet from their last ten on home soil in the Championship.

Ian Holloway’s Millwall outfit have also hit a bit of a rough patch of late having racked up just one win from their last six Championship matches and that was a 2-1 home win over second from bottom club Blackpool, but since then, The Lions have lost away at Ipswich Town and Reading but they did hold a rampant Nottingham Forest to a 0-0 draw at the New Den last Saturday.

On the road, Millwall have been one of the teams so far to register an away win at Craven Cottage over Fulham with a 1-0 success, and they also held Sheffield Wednesday to a point at Hillsborough too. however, with an away record of  1-1-2  4/6, this game could have increasing significance as the season wears on.

On first glance I was tempted to back Millwall with the round ball, but given their recent form and results, I’ll back them with the double chance option (AH+0.5) as you still get pretty good odds with this and I feel The Lions are worth a point this afternoon. It could be a 0-0 draw after all!
