HUDDERSFIELD v ROTHERHAM – Pick: 1 AH-0.25 – 07 March 2015

Terriers could nip the points off Millermen

Championship Tips

Football – England – Championship

Saturday 7th March 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Following back-to-back away defeats at London clubs Charlton Athletic and Brentford, Huddersfield Town return to their more familiar surroundings of the John Smith’s Stadium this afternoon when they take on fourth from bottom club Rotherham United.

Huddersfield’s away form hasn’t been their forte this season, so no doubt they’ll be glad to be back on home turf where they currently hold an overall record of  7-5-5  24/21 and also where they beat Reading in a convincing 3-0 win last time out in front of their own fans.

The Terriers have lost at home just once against bottom half opposition and they were defeats to Birmingham City and local Yorkshire rivals Leeds United, but they’ve also chalked up some useful wins over teams like Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Watford in previous tussles.

Visitors Rotherham United currently sit just above the bottom three in the Championship thanks to a handy six-point cushion over third from bottom Wigan Athletic. But Rotherham have been unable to climb away from the nether regions of the division as they’ve recorded just one league win from their last six matches overall.

That recent rare success was a 2-1 home win over second from bottom club Millwall at their New York Stadium, but apart from that, there’s been very little for the Millers’ fans to cheer about as their side has suffered three defeats in their last four with losses to Wolves, Watford and Cardiff City.

Rotherham’s exploits on the road have also taken a turn for the worse as they’ve now gone six matches without a win on their travels, and indeed, have actually won just once from their last fifteen away matches (a 2-1 win at fellow strugglers Wigan Athletic just before Christmas!)

Huddersfield Town look the more likely to gain the three points here this afternoon, but try and keep the draw on your side as much as possible. The hosts might run out 1-0 winners here.
