Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

It’s the final game of the season in the English Championship but for both of these teams, their season has already been decided (at least until the next stage for Hull) while Rotherham United have escaped the drop to League One after a spirited comeback from the end of February onwards.

Let’s take a look at Hull City first, and The Tigers have already sealed their play-off place although manager Steve Bruce will be disappointed that his side couldn’t maintain their form for a little longer and claim an automatic promotion spot. Anyway, their final home game of the season against Rotherham is another step towards getting them ready for the play-off phase.

Hull City have lost at home just once all season amidst an overall record of  14-7-1  42/11 with only second placed Middlesbrough possessing a tighter defensive record on home turf. The Tigers are unbeaten in their last 13 home matches.

Visitors Rotherham United looked dead and buried earlier in this campaign and seemed doomed to relegation, but The Millers have recently put together an impressive 11-match unbeaten run which has lifted them out of the bottom three and the relative safety of 20th place.

More importantly, Rotherham are now 9 points ahead of Charlton Athletic and they can relax this afternoon knowing their Championship status is secure for another season. They’re also unbeaten in their last five away from home which includes vital wins at Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich Town and MK Dons.

But Rotherham’s overall away record still reads a disappointing  5-4-13  21/32 and they’ll be up against a Hull City outfit who will be determined to keep their momentum moving forward for the play-offs.
