Relegated Hyde United take on a mid-table Salisbury City who still have designs on making the play-offs at their Ewen Fields ground on Tuesday night.

Hyde, who were condemned down to the Conference North for next season for some time now, are still yet to win at Ewen Fields this season which is a remarkable yet unwanted record for a club that has really struggled all season at this level. It’s thirteen matches without a win for the Cheshire club who in fact have won only once in a wretched season, courtesy of a 2-0 win at Welling United back in mid-January.

Hyde’s recent results have reflected their struggles this term with defeats against Alfreton Town, Dartford, Aldershot Town and Chester, scoring just 2 goals in their last five and conceding 9 in a snapshot of what has been a miserable campaign for arguably the worst season that a team has experienced at this level for many years.

Hyde’s overall home record stands at a disastrous  0-3-17  17/51 and perhaps unsurprisingly they are the league’s lowest goalscorers at home and have also conceded the most number of goals for a home team in the division.

Visitors Salisbury City scored a good away win at Braintree Town on Saturday which held up Alan Devonshire’s side in their play-off push, and with Salisbury just seven points adrift of Halifax who are in the play-off pack, the visitors know they must win tonight to keep their slim hopes of getting in the play-offs alive.

Salisbury have lost just once in their last five which was a 0-3 home loss to Cambridge United but The Whites have drawn too many matches recently which has held up their progress up the table. Stalemates against Gateshead, Wrexham and Kidderminster, although tough games, have meant that Salisbury now need to pick up further wins and other results go their way if they’re to grab an unexpected play-off place.

Salisbury’s overall away record stands at a disappointing  5-3-12  18/37 but they’ll fancy their chances of taking all three points at a totally demoralised Hyde outfit tonight I daresay.

Can Hyde go a whole season without a home win? At best it seems a draw is the most likely result for the hosts here, but I’ll back the visitors to walk away with the points tonight as they still have an outside chance of putting pressure on the teams above them with a win tonight. Salisbury to nick it perhaps 2-1.

Pick:  Salisbury City straight win @ 1.73 Bet Victor
