Football – Europe – Euro 2016 Betting Tips

The other match to be played simultaneously as the Hungary/Portugal clash is the final group match between Iceland and Austria in what has been a very close Group F with all teams capable of reaching the last 16 as we head into this final round of matches.

Hungary sit top of the group and are now the favourites to progress into the knock-out stages, but there’s everything still left to play for in the final match with Iceland seeking to remain unbeaten in their group games when they take on Austria on Wednesday evening.

Iceland have gained points in each of their 1-1 draws with Portugal and Hungary respectively, and given Austria’s poor showing so far in this tournament, the Icelanders will believe they can get something out of tonight’s encounter too.

As mentioned earlier, Austria have not had the best of tournaments so far in this Euro 2016 as they’ve gained just one point from their first two Group F matches courtesy of a rather fortunate 0-0 draw against Portugal in their previous outing.

The Austrians had suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Hungary who have emerged as the dark horses of this group, and they now have to chase this match in order to try and sneak a third place position and a place in the last 16.

Iceland have proved to be a tough nut to crack though in previous matches, and I do wonder whether Austria have the required cutting edge up front to make in-roads into Iceland’s well organised defensive unit.

I believe Austria will come away ultimately frustrated in a low-scoring (if any) match.
