Saturday afternoon brings us a fixture in the Finland Veikkausliiga which is worth looking at as I believe there’s an opportunity to make some more money.
Hosts Inter Turku take on third placed Seinaejoen (or SJK) at their Veritas Stadion as they look to pull away from the lower reaches of the division in a bid to break their five match winless streak. Recent defeats against Mariehamn 1-3 away, 0-1 at home to FC Lahti and 2-4 away at KuPS have pegged them back despite back-to-back score draws with league leaders HJK Helsinki 3-3 and their last match against SJK 2-2.
It’s now the return fixture, and Inter Turku have a good chance of getting something from this match as they possess a home record of 5-3-2 15/11 going into this afternoon’s encounter. They’ve failed to score in three of their ten home matches to date.
Visitors SJK will be looking to close the gap on second placed FC Lahti who are currently five points ahead of SJK, but more importantly, today’s visitors will be keen to extend their lead over fourth placed KuPS to a commanding nine points should they take all three points here.
However, SJK’s progress has been slowed by three draws in their last five which were 1-1 with FC Lahti, 0-0 against KuPS and today’s opponents Inter Turku 2-2.
SJK’s overall away record stands at a so-so 4-3-4 10/11 but considering they’ve lost just once in their last six matches on the road (having won four of these six), they look set to pose the hosts a few questions this afternoon. Throw in their leading goalscorer Lehtinen (7 goals) into the mix and you can see why they hold a top three position in the Veikkausliiga.
Inter Turku’s home form has been pretty good in recent weeks while SJK are capable of scoring goals both home and away. Therefore, again I see both teams to score here in what could be another score draw – perhaps 1-1.
