JUVENTUS v GENOA – Pick: 1 HT/FT – 22 March 2015

Juve to extend amazing unbeaten run

International Football Tips

Football – Italy – Serie A

Sunday 22nd March 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Juventus are on a strong run of form as the italian season approaches the final straight with the Italian giants sitting an unassailable 14 points clear of second placed Lazio, as they sit proudly on top of the Serie A.

This is in sharp contrast to match-fixing allegations that were pressed against them just a few seasons ago which resulted in Juve being relegated to Serie B. But you can’t keep a good man down (or rather, team) as they’ve put together an astonishing 18 match unbeaten run which has quite simply swept aside all competition.

Juventus’ home record stands at an amazing  11-2-0  33/7 and they’ve won their last five home matches on the trot with wins against Hellas Verona, Chievo, AC Milan, Atalanta and Sassuolo – scoring 12 goals in the process and conceding just 2 in reply.

Visitors Genoa lost at home last weekend when they went down 2-0 to Chievo which was their first defeat in five matches in Serie A, a run which has seen them lift up into 7th place. An away win at Lazio was followed up with a 5-2 win over Hellas Verona, while back-to-back draws away at Sampdoria and Empoli were also solid results.

Genoa’s away record stands at  5-5-3  20/16 and are unbeaten in their last three, but today they come up against a Juventus outfit whip have out-stripped all the competition so far in a strong Serie A line-up, and they could find the going tough this afternoon as they try to keep up with the hosts.

Juventus are quite rightly priced favourites for this match so I have to look for an edge – I’m confident that the likes of Tevez, Morata, Llorente and Pogba have tha ability to put them ahead after 45 mins, and then go onto win the match, hence my pick. Juventus to win 2-0.
