Serie A champions Juventus will host fourth placed Napoli in an end of season block-buster at the Juventus Stadium on Saturday night with Napoli having already bagged their place in the Europa League for next season.
Juventus have displayed strength in form in the Italian top flight all season, and despite a couple of recent defeats to Parma and Torino, both of these were inflicted away from home while their form on home turf has been simply outstanding.
Juve remain the only side in Serie A to remain unbeaten all season, and I daresay they’ll be looking to keep a clean slate in this final home match of the season. Their overall home record stands at an excellent 15-3-0 42/10 and they’ve won nine of their last ten matches at home.
Visitors Napoli have been in pretty good form in recent weeks as they’ve secured wins over Fiorentina, Cagliari, Sampdoria, AC Milan and Cesena, but their performances on their travels has been less convincing as they’ve registered just one win from their last seven (a 3-0 win at third from bottom club Cagliari).
Their overall away record reads an inconsistent 7-4-7 23/23 and they’ve kept just four clean sheets on the road all season. This kind of defensive record may well spell trouble for them again this evening against a rampant Juventus outfit.
In short, Juventus will want to maintain their unbeaten home record here tonight, but as they’re playing Napoli who have been impressive away at the top teams during this season, I’ll back the hosts with the round ball to at least avoid defeat. Could perhaps be a 1-0 win for the hosts.
