Serie A league leaders Juventus will be looking to further extend their commanding nine-point lead at the top of the table when they host Sassuolo at home this Monday night.
Juventus have been in dominating form on home turf of late as they’ve racked up four straight wins in their own backyard with victories over Hellas Verona, Chievo Verona, AC Milan and Atalanta, while their overall home record stands at an impressive 10-2-0 32/7.
In addition, Juve have kept six clean sheets to date in their home fixtures so far, and if you dig a bit deeper, you’ll find that they’ve covered the -1.75 asian handicap line in six of their seven encounters at home against bottom half clubs this season.
Striker Carlos Tevez (15 goals) is their leading goalscorer and most likely anytime scorer, and he notched again in Juventus’s recent 1-1 draw away at AS Roma.
Visitors Sassuolo make the unenviable trip to Juventus on the back of three straight defeats in Serie A after suffering losses to Fiorentina 3-1 at home, a 2-0 loss at Napoli and a 3-0 home defeat to Lazio last week.
Indeed, they’ve won just once in their last eight league matches which was a 3-1 home win over out-of-sorts Inter Milan back in early February, but their away record against the top teams has been a little below-par.
They’ve suffered defeats at Inter Milan 7-0, Lazio 3-2 and Napoli 2-0 and they shouldn’t even get close to Juventus here this afternoon if truth be told. Their overall away record stands at 3-5-5 16/24 and they’re without a win from their last four on their travels.
This should be an open and close straightforward home win here, so I’ll opt for the extra value in the asian handicap on the hosts who could take this perhaps 3-0.
