Juventus have made a scorching start to their new Serie A campaign as they’ve registered wins in each of their first three Serie A matches, and the hosts will no doubt be hoping they can replicate this form when they take on Sevilla at their Juventus Stadium in the Champions League tonight.
It’s the start of the group phase in this competition, and Juventus have been drawn in Group H with tonight’s visitors Sevilla along with Dinamo Zagreb and Lyon, but having racked up early season wins over Fiorentina, Lazio and Sassuolo so far, Juve will be in confident mood ahead of tonight’s clash.
In last season’s Champions League, Juventus reached the last 16 but crashed out to German champions Bayern Munich 6-4 on aggregate but they did hold Bayern to a 2-2 draw in the home leg. Juventus will be looking to at least emerge from the group stages this season too.
Visitors Sevilla have made an unbeaten start to their Spanish La Liga season as they’ve gained wins over Espanyol 6-4 and Las Palmas 2-1 along with earning a point in a 0-0 draw away at Villarreal, but their free-scoring style may well hit a road-block against the Italian giants this evening.
Sevilla and Juventus were also drawn together in last season’s Group D with both teams registering wins in their respective home legs, and it could well be a similar story this time around too with both sides showing strong home form.
But it’s Sevilla’s away form that concerns us all for this pick and they have been on the end of some disappointing results which has seen them go six matches without a win on the road (losing five of these matches).
