KAWASAKI FRONTALE v SHIMIZU S-PULSE

Remaining with the J-League, my next pick features Kawasaki Frontale taking on Shimizu S-Pulse at their Todoroki Stadium on Friday night with the hosts sitting in 6th place in the J-League and remaining unbeaten in their first three league matches at home.
Frontale have chalked up a 2-1 win over Kashiwa Reysol but have had to endure a couple of frustrating draws with Sagan Tosu and Ventforet Kofu so far in front of their home crowd, but with just one defeat so far in this new campaign, a win this evening could see them move joint second behind early league leaders Urawa Reds.
Influential midfielder Nakamura (2 goals) and forward Kobayashi (3 goals) are the players to watch for the home side, and indeed as potential anytime goalscorers here this evening. Incidentally, Kawasaki Frontale have drawn their last three matches in all competitions with stalemates against Ventforet Kofu and Consadole Sapporo in J-League and a 0-0 draw with Guangzhou Evergrande in the Asian Champions League.
Visitors Shimizu S-Pulse sit in 9th place and just two points adrift of Friday night’s hosts, Kawasaki Frontale, but strangely enough have their away form to thank for their current top half position in the Japanese top flight.
S-Pulse have won three of their first four matches away from home with wins registered at Hiroshima, Albirex Niigata and Kashiwa Reysol amidst an early strong away record that stands at 3-0-1 6/3 with only Kashima Antlers possessing a better record away from home in the league to date.
The last three league meetings between these two sides have resulted in entertaining encounters, and I’ll back both teams to score here with maybe another draw on the cards.
