Kidderminster will go in search of a third consecutive home win in the Conference Premier this evening when they host Aldershot Town at the Aggborough Stadium following last week’s win over Torquay United.
Kidderminster secured all three points against one of the pre-season favourites for promotion with a 2-1 win as they bounced back from defeat away at Halifax the week beforehand. Their form has improved recently as The Harriers have lost just once in their last five matches (away at Halifax) but have registered wins over Welling United and Torquay during this sequence.
At The Aggborough, Kidderminster’s overall record stands at a solid 6-2-1 17/7 with their one defeat coming against second placed Grimsby Town but notable scalps so far for Kidderminster have been wins over Gateshead and Torquay.
Visitors Aldershot Town held League Two Portsmouth to an excellent 2-2 draw away at Fratton Park on Saturday in the first round of the FA Cup but they now face a tricky fixture at Kidderminster who are chasing a place in the play-off pack on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Aldershot sit in a bottom half position in the Conference Premier largely due to the fact that they’ve managed just one win on their travels so far this season, that being a 2-0 win at bottom club AFC Telford back in mid-August.
But The Shots are without a Conference win now in four matches having drawn with Bristol Rovers and Dartford, whilst suffering defeats against Chester and Gateshead. Aldershot’s away record stands at a slightly disappointing 1-4-4 6/10 and have gone seven matches on the road without a win.
Kidderminster hold a good record at Aggborough so I’ll back them for the points here tonight, but beware of Aldershot’s tendency to get a draw also. Give the quarter ball on the hosts therefore who might win this 2-1.
