KIDDERMINSTER v WELLING – Pick: 1 AH-1 – 08 October 2014

Kiddy to get it right against Wings

National League Tips

Football – England – Conference Premier

Wednesday 8th October 2014 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Kidderminster will be keen to bounce back from their 1-1 draw with bottom club AFC Telford united at the weekend when they host fellow strugglers Welling United at the Aggborough Stadium this evening.

It was definitely a case of two points dropped for Kiddy who went ahead through Verma on the stroke of half-time, but with just 11 minutes remaining Telford equalised through midfielder Todd to rescue a point for the visitors who seemed resigned to a sixth away defeat.

Kidderminster manager Gary Whild will therefore be ensuring his troops remain focused for the whole of the 90 minutes tonight in order to reclaim the three points to keep the midlanders in the hunt for a play-off place.

Kidderminster’s overall home record stands at  4-2-1  13/5 which includes wins against Alfreton Town, Dartford, Gateshead and Altrincham, but they haven’t won their last two on home turf as they lost to Grimsby and could only manage a point against Telford.

Visitors Welling United extended their unbeaten run at the weekend to five matches with a point away at Chester in a 1-1 draw. Recent wins over Lincoln City and Altrincham have ensured that The Wings have stayed out of trouble at the bottom of the division, but of these recent results, only a point at home against Gateshead was against a top half side – or am I just being picky?!

Up until recently, away from their Park View ground, Welling have struggled on the road having lost their first five away matches on the trot and scoring just 2 goals, although they did win at Altrincham and got a point at Chester in their last two. Still, their away record stands at  1-1-5  7/14 and they’ll face a stern examination from Kidderminster at Aggborough tonight.

I daresay the Kidderminster players copped the ‘hairdryer’ treatment on Saturday after dropping two points to Telford, and I’m confident they’ll be on their game tonight against a Welling side who have yet to gain points on the road against a top half side. Could be a 2-0 win or the hosts as I reckon they’ll also cover the -1 handicap too.
