It’s a quick dip down into the Danish second tier next as I take a look at second placed HB Koge taking on second from bottom Vejle at the Castus Park ground in the only fixture in the Danish 1st Division this evening.
As such, a win for the home side here this evening could see Koge move level on points at the top of the division with current leaders Hobro, and as they still remain undefeated on home turf this season, this could be a distinct possibility.
Wins over Nykobing, AB and Skive have contributed to their solid home record of 3-4-0 10/3 along with five clean sheets to date as well, and their solid defence could again be the key in determining the outcome here tonight.
Visitors Vejle find themselves second from bottom in the Danish 1st Division following a recent dismal run of four matches without a win as they’ve suffered defeats to Skive, Hobro and Roskilde along with a point against Vendsyssel last time out.
To be fair, Vejle’s recent three defeats all came away from home but having gained two wins earlier in the season away at Vendsyssel and Naestved, they’ve since slumped to four away losses o the trot amidst a record of 2-0-4 9/8.
This poor sequence of results away from home in recent weeks must be having a negative effect on team morale in the Vejle camp, and they now face a side that possess a very solid home record.
However, I’m wary of the possible draw here, so I’ll take the round ball on offer for Koge here but I’m fairly confident of a home win.
