It’s eleventh placed versus ninth placed next up in the Swedish Superettan as hosts Landskrona take on Ljungskile at their Idrottsplats ground on Thursday night.
After suffering a temporary dip in form where they lost three away matches on the trot with defeats at Varberg 1-2 away, 0-2 at Degerfors and 1-2 at Angelholm, Landskrona appear to have turned their form around with a 4-0 home win over Ostersunds and they then grabbed a point at Orgryte on Monday night.
They will no doubt be keen to further their points tally on Thursday night with another home fixture where they’ve recorded an overall home record of 6-2-2 21/8 which is pretty solid. A solid defensive record at home too with six clean sheets and just one defeat in their last seven league matches provides further proof of their home performances. Indeed, only Orebro (3 goals) and tonight’s opponents Ljungskile (7 goals) have a better defensive record than them at home in the Superettan.
Visitors Ljungskile have posted some inconsistent results in recent weeks with wins over Hammarby, Falkenberg and rock-bottom club Brage, but they’ve also had defeats inflicted upon them by the likes of Varnamo 1-2 at home and Assyriska away which is more understandable.
Ljungskile’s home form has been okay but their performances on the road have been pretty ordinary to say the least with just the one win from their last seven away matches (1-0 at Hammarby who possess an average home record themselves). In addition they’ve kept just two clean sheets on their travels to date with an overall away record of 3-0-7 8/14 with only Ostersunds (5 goals) and Orgryte (6 goals) scoring fewer times than them away from home in the division.
To summarise, Landskrona look a good bet to cover the quarter ball handicap with their solid home form while in the anytime goalscorer market, Landskrona’s forward Alexander Nilsson (8 goals) looks to be the best option. Landskrona to win 2-1.
