Leeds United’s disappointing season continued last weekend when they went down to a 1-0 loss at home to Nottingham Forest at Elland Road, and the South Yorkshire outfit now find themselves in 16th place in the Championship as a result.
Leeds have now won just once in their last eight league matches overall which was a 1-0 home win over fourth from bottom club Bristol City, but there’s been little to cheer about for the Leeds faithful again this season with their club languishing in the bottom half of the English second tier.
Leeds’ overall home record stands at 4-5-6 12/16 although prior to the Nottingham Forest defeat they’d put together a five-match unbeaten run which included wins over Hull City, Preston North End and the aforementioned Bristol City.
Visitors Middlesbrough have drawn their last two Championship matches with 1-1 stalemates against Blackburn Rovers and MK Dons respectively, while they’ve now gone four matches without a win in the league.
Previous defeats against Bristol City and Nottingham Forest have pegged Boro back in their quest for an automatic promotion spot, although they still sit in second place just two points adrift of league leaders Hull City.
With Burnley and Brighton now hot on their heels, Boro will need to get something from their visit to Elland Road and with an overall away record of 7-3-4 18/12 and just one defeat from their last six away trips, they stand every chance of doing so.
