Top of the Spanish Segunda Division, Leganes, still haven’t secured automatic promotion just yet with four games remaining of the regular season, they’re four points ahead of third placed Gimnastic as we enter this weekend’s round of fixtures.
Leganes have lost just once in their last six, but there’s still some work to do if they’re to achieve promotion up to La Liga as they prepare for the visit of Huesca this evening at their Estadio Municipal de Butarque ground.
Leganes do hold a very impressive record on home turf though which stands at 11-7-1 34/11 with their one loss so far this season being a surprising 1-0 defeat to Tenerife. Recent impressive wins over Real Valladolid and Ponferradina 4-0 and 3-0 respectively should give them confidence here.
Visitors Huesca have produced some mixed results of late with recent wins gained against Gimnastic, Real oviedo, Llagostera and Almeria, while also suffering defeats to Cordoba and Mirandes.
Huesca currently sit five points ahead of the bottom four relegation pack, but they have a couple of difficult matches ahead of them in the final stages of the Segunda Division with an away match at Leganes here and a home game against Real Zaragoza in the next.
Huesca’s overall away record stands at 5-8-6 17/20 and they’ve secured just two away wins from their last ten matches on their travels which could count against them at Leganes this evening. Three defeats from their last four away matches at Ponferradina, Numancia and Mirandes show Huesca’s vulnerability on the road.
