Premier League leaders Leicester City bounced back from their 2-1 away defeat at Arsenal last weekend with a 1-0 home win over Norwich City to remain two points ahead of title rivals Tottenham with tonight’s home game against bottom half West Brom pending.
With just 11 league games remaining, The Foxes’ fairytale title prospects are now very much in their own hands and with Tottenham having to play London rivals West Ham away at Upton Park on Wednesday night, Leicester could steal a march on Spurs if they take all three points this evening.
Leicester’s home record stands at a very solid-looking 8-4-1 22/13 and having won their last three matches at the King Power Stadium with victories over Stoke City, Liverpool and Norwich City (all to nil I might add), along with a total of six clean sheets to date, they look all set for further success tonight.
Visitors West Brom currently sit in 13th place following recent back-to-back wins over Everton 1-0 away and a 3-2 home win over Crystal Palace on the weekend as Tony Pulis’s men appear to have secured another season in the English top flight as they sit 11 points ahead of the bottom three.
But despite West Brom’s current league position, it should be noted that The Baggies have won just once on their travels from their last eight matches on the road which was the recent win at Goodison Park.
An overall away record of 4-4-5 9/14 masks the fact that they’ve lost four of their last eight away matches and have failed to score in six of their 13 away matches to date as they’ve found scoring goals on the road a real problem.
