Lens to take advantage of Valenciennes' poor road form

Football – France – Ligue 2 Betting Tips

Lens recently lifted themselves up into sixth spot in Ligue 2 following back-to-back wins over Brest and Tours, and they’ll no doubt fancy their chances of claiming a third league win on the trot at their  Stade Bollaert-Delelis this evening against bottom half outfit Valenciennes.

Lens possess a very solid-looking record st home which stands at  5-6-1  13/10 and they’re unbeaten in their last nine Ligue 2 matches on home turf. In addition, they’ve kept five clean sheets in their home matches so far this season, and the recent wins over Nimes, Bourg en Bresse and Brest will give them confidence here I reckon.

Lens’ goals have been shared around midfielders Autret and Cyprien (4 goals apiece) along with forwards Chavarria and Nanizayamo (3 goals each), so goal threats can come from various sources.

Visitors Valenciennes currently sit in 16th place in Ligue 2 following a run of four matches without a win which includes three draws against Bourg en Bresse, Red Star and Creteil, along with a 1-0 defeat away at Dijon in-between.

But despite a fairly reasonable-looking away record of  4-2-6  10/14, Valenciennes have now gone six matches without a win on their travels as the rot appears to have well and truly set in on the road.

Four defeats from these last six at Evian, Clermont, Nancy and Dijon won’t have done their confidence much good ahead of their trip to Lens this evening, along with failing to score on 7 occasions out of their 12 away matches and keeping just three clean sheets.
