Hats off to Luton for the points here

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League Two

Saturday 14th February 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Luton Town have enjoyed a successful campaign so far in their return to League Two as they currently occupy one of the play-off positions.

Luton find themselves in fifth place and just four points adrift of third placed Wycombe Wanderers who occupy the last remaining automatic promotion spots. The Hatters are deservedly in the mix for the play-offs on the back of a nine-match unbeaten run which includes wins over Newport County, Plymouth Argyle and Cambridge United although they’ve also been involved in a high number of draws recently too.

The Hatters’ home record stands at a solid  9-4-2  23/9 and have put together an impressive twelve-match unbeaten run at Kenilworth Road which has become a fortress since two early season defeats.

Carlisle United make the long trip down to London on the back of a 2-1 home defeat to high-flying Shrewsbury Town during the week, but Keith Curle’s men have shown improvement recently having won three of their last five overall.

The Cumbrians have picked up maximum points with wins over AFC Wimbledon, Mansfield Town and Tranmere Rovers, but their away form still requires further attention; 4-1-10  16/27 has been their return so far on their travels and they’ve lost six of their eight encounters away at top half opposition so far this season.

To sum up, Luton have been in solid form and with striker and leading goalscorer Cullen in good form, I’ll back The Hatters for the points here today in perhaps a 2-1 win.
