MACCLESFIELD v CHESTER – Pick: 1 – 11 November 2014

Silkmen to stretch unbeaten run to six games

National League Tips

Football – England – Conference Premier

Tuesday 11th November 2014 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Macclesfield Town will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run in the Conference Premier and extend the number of matches without defeat to six games when they host Chester at their Moss Rose Ground this evening.

Recent wins over run-away Conference Premier league leaders Barnet 2-1 and a 1-0 win over Dover Athletic along with draws against Forest Green Rovers, Dartford and Nuneaton Town have lifted The Silkmen into a top half position, and another three points tonight could see them jump into the play-off pack.

Macclesfield’s home form has been the major reason for their current league position of 10th place having remained undefeated so far this season on home soil where they possess a record of  5-4-0    13/5 with wins already registered over Braintree Town, Eastleigh, Southport, Barnet and Dover Athletic.

Visitors Chester secured their passage into the second round of the FA Cup with an impressive 2-1 win away at Southend United on Saturday, but in the Conference Premier they’ve suffered back-to-back defeats away from home with losses at Dover Athletic 0-2 and 2-3 at Eastleigh.

Chester’s recent wins over Aldershot Town and Alfreton Town were both recorded at their home ground while their overall away record stands at  2-1-6  11/17 with five defeats from their last six matches.

It’s also interesting to note that Chester have kept just one clean sheet from their last fourteen matches on their travels which should give Macclesfield a better than reasonable chance of getting something out of the visitors here tonight. I’ll therefore back the hosts at a good price to register all three points in what could be perhaps a 1-0 win for The Silkmen.
