MACCLESFIELD v DOVER – Pick: 1 AH0 – 18 October 2014

Silkmen to ease past Whites at Moss Rose

National League Tips

Football – England – Conference Premier

Saturday 18th October 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Macclesfield Town will be looking to extend their unbeaten home run to nine matches this Saturday when they entertain Dover Athletic at their Moss Rose ground.

Macclesfield are one of only five clubs to remain unbeaten on home turf in the Conference Premier as they hold a solid  4-4-0  12/5 record which includes four clean sheets and wins over Braintree Town, Eastleigh, Southport and Barnet – the win over Barnet was a particularly solid one as The Bees currently top the division and have lost just once on the road so far.

Back to Macclesfield though, and The Silkmen will be pleased to be back on home turf after recent back-to-back away defeats at Lincoln City and Altrincham respectively, but since then, they’re unbeaten in their last three with the win over Barnet and draws with Forest Green Rovers and Dartford.

Onto the visitors Dover Athletic now, and they currently find themselves in the bottom half of the Conference despite holding a reasonable home record with three wins from their last five overall (all three being on home turf incidentally).

Away from their Perrys Crabble Stadium though, The Whites have been in poor form having registered just one win on the road from their first eight outings (a 4-1 romp at AFC Telford), but have suffered five defeats so far.

Their away record stands at  1-2-5  10/19 and along with the bottom two clubs of the division, Alfreton Town and AFC Telford, they’ve conceded the highest number of away goals to date. They’ve also conceded 2 or more goals on five occasions so far on their travels, and face a tough assignment at Macclesfield today.

This looks a no-brainer for me as Macclesfield have remained unbeaten at Moss Rose and playing a side who have conceded goals on a regular basis away from home, the draw no bet option seems to be over-priced here – Macclesfield should win this one anyway perhaps 2-0.

Pick: Macclesfield Town AH0 @ 1.65 bet365 looks a good price
