MACCLESFIELD v HALIFAX

Saturday 9th January 2016 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Following back-to-back away wins on the road recently, Macclesfield will be keen to keep this run going at their Moss Rose ground this afternoon when they take on struggling Halifax with the hosts also keen to maintain their current play-off position.

Macclesfield registered away wins at Chester and Tranmere Rovers in 2-0 and 1-0 wins respectively, although they’ve lost their last two home matches on the trot with defeats to Eastleigh and Tranmere Rovers, so they’ll be keen to set the record straight here this afternoon.

Macclesfield’s overall home record stands at  7-2-4  20/12 which has helped them attain their current league position of 5th place, and with striker Dennis (20 goals) up front for the hosts, there could be another three points in the offing today.

Visitors Halifax currently sit in the bottom four of the National League although they have turned their earlier disastrous form around as they’ve put together a seven-match unbeaten run which has given them a real chance of avoiding the drop into the National League North.

Wins over Gateshead, Dover, Lincoln City and Wrexham mean they’re just one point adrift of Boreham Wood who entertain league leaders Cheltenham Town this weekend, while Halifax’s away record still stands at a disappointing  3-0-9  15/27.

Halifax’s record away at top half teams stands at  2-0-4  8/14 and they’ll be doing well if they keep a clean sheet away at Macclesfield today I daresay.

With Macclesfield possessing striker Dennis in their attacking ranks, they should take the points here despite Halifax’s encouraging form.
