MACCLESFIELD v WOKING – Pick: 1 AH-1 – 06 December 2014

Cards could suffer Macc-lash at Moss Rose today

National League Tips

Football – England – Conference Premier

Saturday 6th December 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

When I saw the odds for my pick for this fixture I could hardly believe my eyes, and is my ‘roughie’ pick for today – but first I’ll outline the reasons for my pick…

5th placed Macclesfield Town host 2nd placed Woking at their Moss Rose ground as they look to maintain their unbeaten run on home turf, and along with Eastleigh, they remain the only clubs to retain their unbeaten tag at home in the division.

Macclesfield suffered their first defeat in nine matches in the Conference last Saturday when they lost 1-3 away at Conference leaders Barnet, but they had previously beaten Chester 3-1, Alfreton Town 2-0 and Torquay United 1-0 all on home turf in recent weeks. The Silkmen’s overall home record stands at  8-4-0  19/6 which also includes other notable wins over Eastleigh and league leaders Barnet.

Visitors Woking registered back-to-back wins last weekend when they beat Altrincham 2-0 at home which followed an earlier 1-0 win over Braintree Town, again at their Kingfield Stadium. However, last time out on the road, The Cards suffered a 1-3 defeat at Grimsby Town while their overall away record stands at  6-2-3  19/12.

Despite two wins at top half opposition, Woking have also experienced defeats at the hands of Torquay United 0-1, Bristol Rovers 0-2 and Grimsby Town 1-3, so they’re not guaranteed the points at the Moss Rose ground here this afternoon.

Onto my pick then, and with Macclesfield’s unbeaten run on home turf along with Woking having already lost at three top half sides so far, I reckon there’s some monster value to be backed on the hosts to win by the -1 handicap on offer. Macclesfield could take this perhaps 2-0.

Pick: Macclesfield Town AH-1 @ 6.10 bet365 is too good to turn down!
