The venue of my next pick is the Estadio La Rosaleda as hosts Malaga prepare for the visit of La Liga Getafe in Friday night’s only clash in the Spanish top flight on Friday night.
Malaga sit mid-table after a 2-1 win away at Eibar last weekend which ended a run of three league matches without a win following a 1-1 draw with Las Palmas and back-to-back defeats to Sevilla and Barcelona.
The latter two losses though, realistically, would have been expected but Malaga can bounce back with all three points this evening with the visit of Getafe who have managed just one away win all season while tonight’s hosts have recently recorded wins over Atletico Madrid and Celta Vigo.
Onto the visitors Getafe, and they head into tonight’s encounter having suffered two defeats on the trot to Granada and Athletic Bilbao which ended an earlier run of three La Liga wins on the bounce. However, confidence might have ebbed a little following these recent defeats, while their away record stands at a below-par 1-2-7 9/24.
That rare win on the road came at Sporting Gijon who currently occupy fourth from bottom in La Liga, but their record away at top half opposition stands at an even poorer 0-1-4 3/12 with losses at Athletic Bilbao, Atletico Madrid, Eibar and Real Madrid.
In addition, Getafe have kept just one clean sheet on their travels all season whilst failing to score themselves on four occasions.
This should be a fairly comfortable home win here tonight.
