Malmo will be looking to register a third consecutive win in the Swedish Allsvenskan as they prepare for the visit of early strugglers Hacken at their Swedbank Stadion having recently accounted for Elfsborg and Djurgarden.
Malmo’s early home record stands at 2-0-1 5/3 and they currently sit in 7th place, but recent wins on home turf against Norrkoping and Djurgarden suggest that they are in the box-seat to record a third win here this evening.
Traditionally, Malmo are a strong unit on home turf and they’ve been defeated just three times in their last 19 home matches, but they have had problems with Hacken in the past as they’ve lost 2-1 and 3-0 in their last two encounters at home.
Visitors Hacken ended a poor run of four defeats on the trot in the Allsvenskan during the week when they scored an emphatic 6-1 home win over Gefle, but they’ll still face a tough task away at Malmo this evening.
Hacken’s early results away from home in the Swedish top flight have both ended in defeat – a 1-0 loss at Gothenborg and a 2-1 defeat at Ostersunds included in an overall away record of 0-0-2 1/3. But as mentioned earlier, Hacken have previously performed well at Malmo.
In fact, apart from a 3-3 draw, Hacken have won four of the last five meetings between these two sides, along with quite a few goals being scored in the process.
