Bournemouth to stay close to United

MANCHESTER UNITED v BOURNEMOUTH

Football – England – Premier League Betting Tips

It’s very tight in the european qualification spots in the Premier League ahead of the last match of the season with Manchester United looking to hold onto at least a Europa League spot, but they could even nick the Champions League qualifying berth over their noisy neighbours Manchester City this afternoon.

Manchester United host a Bournemouth outfit who must be very satisfied with their inaugural campaign in the Premier League having avoided the drop in their first attempt. Meanwhile at Old Trafford, I sense the natives are getting a little restless as they watch a sterile version of their side under Louis Van Gaal who, admittedly yes, has tightened up their defence, but gone is the former free-flowing and swashbuckling style of United of old.

The Red Devils’ home record stands at  11-5-2  24/8 with clean sheets seemingly a priority over winning matches, the hosts have achieved 12 shut-outs, but this means they’ve only won by a 2-goal margin a total of 4 times out of 11 wins so far on home turf (3 of those were achieved by November last year).

Visitors Bournemouth will make their way to Old Trafford no longer afraid of facing the big teams as they’ve held their own amongst the nation’s best in this campaign as they sit in 16th place. This may seem an over-statement, but The Cherries just cannot compete at the same level financially, and avoiding relegation is worth a windfall to the south coast side.

That siad, Bournemouth have won just once in their last seven overall in the top flight which was a 2-1 win away at relegated Aston Villa, but they are known as a hard-working side under manager Eddie Howe and they’ll be desperate to give a good account of themselves in Manchester today.

Bournemouth’s away record stands at a fairly steady  6-4-8  21/30 and they’ve llost on just 3 occasions from their last 11 away matches.

There’s no value on a United win, but I do fancy Bournemouth’s chances of keeping the hosts down to a 1-goal margin (if they lose at all that is).
