MANCHESTER CITY v WEST BROM

Football – England – Premier League Betting Tips

It’s getting to crunch time in the Premier League with just two league matches remaining of the season for both Manchester City and Arsenal as the race for the european slots heats up in the top five of the English top flight.

Manchester City take on West Brom at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night knowing that a win will see them leapfrog Liverpool into third spot with a two point cushion over The Reds. As the battle for supremacy intensifies, so too does the importance of goal difference as this could be the margin between Champions League qualification and Europa League with a significant difference in revenue at stake as well.

Back to tonight’s game, and City are unbeaten in their last six, having won four of these with victories gained over Hull City, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Leicester City, but it’s been the number of draws that they’ve been involved in over the course of the season which ultimately cost them the title this term.

But home form has been very solid as they’re unbeaten in their last 11 on home soil along with an overall home record of  10-7-1  34/16. 7 of their last 11 at home have seen over 2.5 goals in total, and with the need for all three points here, we could see further goals tonight.

West Brom are currently treading water and seemingly cannot wait for the season to be over so they can re-group and prepare for next season’s campaign. Manager Tony Pulis will be desperate to see his troops come out of their current slump which has seen The Baggies now go seven league matches without a win, although they still occupy 8th place in the Premier League.

A strong start to the season has therefore paid dividends for the west midlands club, but they head into this clash very much in poor form with five defeats in these last seven matches.

West Brom’s away record stands at  3-7-7  14/24 and are also without a win from their last seven on the road, so the writing very much appears to be on the wall for them this evening.

This is Manchester City’s last home game of the season, so I’m expecting a home win with goals here.
