It’s the final round of matches in the Danish Superliga this weekend and there are still a few loose ends to tie up on Sunday evening, not least in this match where hosts Midtjylland take on bottom half club Nordsaelland at their MCH Arena with a precious three points up for grabs.
Midtjylland currently occupy third place and the last remaining Europa League spot going into this evening’s season finale, but they still need to ensure a good performance here as they have fourth placed Brondby still breathing down their necks, just two points behind them.
Midtjylland hold a good record on home turf though and boast a record of 10-3-3 28/12 having won four of their last five on home soil with wins over Hobro, Brondby, OB and SonderyskE. Striker Pusic (11 goals) looks the most likely to score for the hosts this evening.
Visitors Nordsjaelland sit in a bottom half 8th position having registered just two Superliga wins from their last ten matches overall, which, incidentally, were both recorded at their ironically titled Right to Dream Park over Hobro and Viborg.
Nordsjaelland’s away record has been a nightmare though by comparison as they’ve managed just one win on their travels from their last ten matches which again was at already relegated Hobro, while their overall record reads a poor 4-2-9 12/23.
Earlier in the season, Nordsjaelland sneaked a 1-0 win at Midtjylland, but I can see the tables turning here tonight in favour of the hosts who will want to make sure of their Europa League berth.
