It’s the start of the Danish Superliga season and tonight’s hosts Midtjylland will be looking to continue their impressive early season form against visitors Randers at their MCH Arena as they go in search of a seventh win on the trot.
Midtjylland have been involved in the Europa League in their pre-season warm up and they registered a comfortable 2-0 aggregate win over Lithuanian side Suduva, winning 1-0 in their home and away legs.
In the second round Europa League qualifying round, Midtjylland have taken a valuable 3-0 first leg win over Swiss side Vaduz and they look certain to reach the third round qualifying stages of the Europa League.
Onto Randers, and tonight’s visitors will be looking to improve upon their mid-table finish in the Danish Superliga at the end of last season, and in addition, improve upon their consistency on their travels this season.
Randers’ form was inconsistent overall throughout the majority of last term, while their away form actually improved in the latter stages of the season as they put together a five-match unbeaten run away from home.
Randers finished with a more respectable away record of 6-3-7 21/24 as a result of their late turnaround on the road, but they did suffer a 2-1 defeat at Midtjylland last time out at the MCH Arena.
History is also on Midtjylland’s side in their encounters against Randers as the hosts have won the last six encounters between these two teams on the trot.
