The second pick for Saturday’s Swedish Allsvenskan is a fixture involving two teams in the bottom half of the division, hosts Mjallby playing Falkenberg at Strandvallen on Saturday afternoon.

Let’s take a look at Mjallby first, and the hosts are currently third from bottom just one point above the bottom two relegation places with just three league wins to their name thus far. In fact it’s just three wins from their last thirteen matches and they were against second from bottom Halmstad, bottom club Brommapojkarna and mid-table Atvidaberg.

Aside from those wins though, they’ve struggled against the better teams in the Allsvenskan while their overall home record stands at  2-1-3  6/10 and have kept just one clean sheet from their last twelve matches on home turf.

Today’s visitors Falkenberg have fared little better as they currently occupy 12th place just two places and two points above Mjallby but this has been largely due to a poor start to their campaign where they lost five of their first six matches since being promoted from the Superettan.

However, since that disastrous start, they’ve turned things around and have lost just once in their last seven matches which was a 0-1 loss away at Helsingborg. Recent wins over Djurgarden and Norrkoping have kept them above the relegation zone for now but their away form needs to improve if they’re to avoid being sucked into a relegation dogfight later on.

Falkenberg’s away record stands at a poor  1-1-4  3/7, but recent form suggests that they could get something from this match, and a point would be considered a decent return on the road.

With both teams struggling to find any sort of consistent form, and with Falkenberg having drawn four of the last seven and would probably settle for a point here, I’m leaning towards a draw here also with both teams seemingly struggling for goals too. It could be either a 0-0 or 1-1 draw perhaps.
