MK DONS v COLCHESTER – Pick: 1 – 29 November 2014

Dons to make sure against Colchester

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League One

Saturday 29th November 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

MK Dons extended their unbeaten run to seven matches in League One when they drew 2-2 with Rochdale at stadium:mk on Tuesday night.

Although MK Dons will be slightly disappointed that they didn’t take all three points, they did find themselves 1-2 down with 6 minutes left, so all in all, a point is better than nothing at all. The Dons currently sit in 4th place ahead of today’s clash with lowly Colchester United, and I daresay manager Karl Robinson will be keen that his side takes the maximum haul this afternoon.

MK Dons have still lost just once at home where their overall record now stands at  6-2-1  20/9 and they’ve won four of their last five on home soil. Likely anytime goalscorers for the hosts are forwards Afobe and Grigg who have notched 11 goals between them so far this term.

Visitors Colchester United have lost their last three league matches on the trot as they now occupy the fourth relegation spot one point adrift of safety and 20th spot which is currently taken by Gillingham.

Defeats to Port Vale, Barnsley and Coventry City have dumped Colchester into the bottom four, and with a trip away at promotion-chasing MK Dons this afternoon, it could well end up being four straight defeats come the final whistle today.

On their travels, Colchester’s away record stands at  2-3-4  14/14 and they’ve gone four matches without a win as they’ve also lost at Preston North End along with draws at Scunthorpe United and Swindon Town.

The Dons received a bit of a wake up call in midweek against Rochdale and my money is on The Dons not making the same mistake twice here – could be a 2-1 win for the hosts.
