MK Dons could reduce the four point deficit held by third placed Preston North End to just one point if they take all three points tonight in League One’s only fixture tonight at stadium:mk.
The Dons registered another three points on the weekend when they edged out Port Vale 1-0 on home turf, and they have another chance to rack up another home win tonight which in turn would extend their unbeaten run to seven matches in England’s third tier.
Recent wins over Fleetwood Town, Swindon Town and Port Vale (all at home) have kept MK Dons in the frame for a play-off place, and their good recent form at stadium:mk could spell trouble for Rochdale tonight. The Dons’ overall home record stands at a very solid 6-1-1 18/7 and they’ve won their last four on the trot having scored 11 goals and conceded just 3 during this sequence.
Likely goalscorers tonight could be forwards Afobe and Grigg.
Visitors Rochdale have dropped out of the reckoning for a play-off place on the back of two defeats on the trot recently against Port Vale and Doncaster Rovers which has cost them ground on the top six.
Rochdale have won five matches so far on their travels this season but only one of the three away troops at top half opposition has ended in success for the Lancashire outfit, that being a 3-2 win over Swindon Town at the County Ground. Their overall away record stands at 5-0-3 19/10 which is pretty good but they go into tonight’s encounter having suffered a heavy 1-3 defeat to Doncaster at home on the weekend.
