Morecambe will be looking to build upon their promising point gained away at Barnet on Saturday in a 0-0 draw which staved off a third straight defeat following previous losses to Leyton Orient and Plymouth Argyle.
The Shrimpers shouldn’t be too down-hearted though as both Orient and Plymouth both occupy positions in the play-off and automatic promotion spots, so the hosts gave a chance of redeeming themselves tonight when they take on bottom half outfit Cambridge United.
Morecambe’s home record stands at 3-0-5 14/15 which isn’t too great, and they’ve lost four of their last five at the Globe Arena, but they should at least gain a further point (if not all three) this evening.
Visitors Cambridge United lost a third League Two match on the trot on Saturday as they went down 3-2 at home to Accrington Stanley which followed previous defeats against Bristol Rovers and Oxford United, and United now sit in the lower reaches of the division as a result.
In addition, Cambridge have registered just one away win from their last seven on their travels amidst an overall road record of 2-4-3 11/12, with the one success coming at struggling Yeovil Town.
Cambridge united have lacked firepower up front though away from home and they’ve failed to score on five occasions already this season from their nine away matches which isn’t great form to take to Morecambe.
Despite Morecambe’s poor results recently, I’ll back the hosts to avoid defeat and back them with the draw no bet option here.
