Newcastle United will face a tough ordeal at their St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon despite holding home advantage when they take on the surprise package of the Premier League season to date, Leicester City.
It’s been a very disappointing campaign so far for The Magpies as they sit fourth from bottom in the top flight with just two league wins under their belt, but looking a little closer and Newcastle have registered their two wins in recent weeks with victories over Norwich City and Bournemouth.
However, both opponents are currently in the bottom half of the division while Newcastle’s form on home turf against top half opposition has yielded just one point from a possible 9 on offer due to a draw and two defeats. The hosts’ overall home record stands at a below-par 1-3-2 11/9.
Leicester City have definitely been the stand-out revelation so far this season under the guidance of former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri who has lifted his Foxes side into what was considered an unlikely european spot before the season started.
Leicester now sit third after a very successful start which has seen the east midlands outfit lose just once so far and still remain unbeaten on their travels – an impressive away record of 3-3-0 12/9 accompanies them up to the north east for today’s clash with Newcastle United, with a win at Norwich City on their travels.
Leicester have also taken points on the road against Stoke City and Southampton, so I see no reason why they can’t get at least a point against The Magpies this afternoon.
I’ll therefore back Leicester City with the attractively-priced draw no bet option here today.
