With just a handful of matches remaining of the season, Newcastle United boosted their chances of Premier League survival with a resounding 3-0 win over Swansea City at St James’ Park on the weekend, but they now face a Manchester City side looking to hold onto their Champions League spot for next season.
Newcastle ended a run of seven matches without a win against The Swans but they’ll face much stronger opponents in City tonight with The Magpies looking to lift themselves out of the bottom three this evening.

City won the League Cup but they’re now in with a shout of a much bigger prize as they negotiated their way to the semi-finals of the Champions League with a morale-boosting win over French champions PSG.
On the domestic front, City have won their last three league matches on the trot with wins over Bournemouth, West Brom and Chelsea, scoring a total of 9 goals and conceding just 1 in reply as they’ve seemed to have stepped up a gear in recent weeks.
They now need the points to hold onto their Champions League spot for next season under Guardiola…
