NORTHERN IRELAND v GERMANY

Football – Europe – Euro 2016 Betting Tips

Northern Ireland face Germany in the last of the matches in Group C where theoretically, they just need a draw against the World Cup holders to stand a very good chance of progressing into the last 16 of the Euro 2016 finals.

However, it may be easier said than done for Michael O’Neill’s side as they look to keep the well-oiled machine that is Germany, quiet in tonight’s clash at the Parcs des Princes. But having lost to Poland in their group opener 1-0, the Irish scored a great 2-0 victory over Ukraine in their last match, and the team is expected to be unchanged for tonight’s encounter.

Northern Ireland have lost just once in their last 14 matches overall, but their history against Germany isn’t great as they’ve lost their last four on the trot against their opponents tonight, although the last time they met was way back in 2005.

Onto Germany, and although they haven’t really stepped into full gear yet, they still remain unbeaten from their first two Group C matches with an opening 2-0 win over Ukraine along with sharing a point against Poland in a 0-0 stalemate.

The Germans also have to just avoid defeat to go through to the last 16 with Poland also expected not to lose to Ukraine, although they will still need to do a professional job against the Irish in order to not let them in through the back door.

Germany have kept three clean sheets on the trot now, and they’ve lost just once in their last five overall. With attacking personnel such as Muller and Gomez, supported by creative midfielders Ozil, Khedira, Draxler and Kroos, Germany should find a way to win this evening.

Germany should win but it won’t be a walk-over.
