A swift visit to the Championship up next where there is a full fixture program, but only one match appeals in terms of betting interest and that is the clash between Norwich City and Wigan Athletic at Carrow Road with the hosts looking to extend their unbeaten run at home.
Norwich have made a good start to their new Championship campaign after suffering relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season, and The Canaries currently occupy fifth place in the English second tier and remain unbeaten at Carrow Road to date.
The home side secured another valuable three points on Saturday with a 3-2 win over Cardiff City, and their overall home record stands at 2-1-0 4/2 having earlier drawn with Sheffield Wednesday and beating Bristol City 1-0.
Visitors Wigan Athletic secured promotion back up to the Championship at the end of last season as they bounced straight back up from League One with manager Gary Caldwell restoring some pride back into the club following a dismal Championship campaign the season before.
However, Wigan find themselves in trouble again this season in the second tier, albeit early days, as they sit fourth from bottom in the Championship with just one win from their first six matches of the new season.
That win came in a 3-0 victory over Lancashire rivals and fellow strugglers Blackburn Rovers but The Latics come into this clash on the back of three defeats on the trot to Nottingham Forest, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday.
Incidentally, Wigan have lost six of their last seven away matches in the Championship so form doesn’t seem to be on their side here.
