Palermo have managed just three points from their first four matches thanks to stalemates against Sampdoria 1-1 at home, 1-1 against Inter Milan at home and a valuable point away at Napoli 3-3 but they’ll face further tough opposition against Lazio today despite having home advantage.
The hosts currently sit in a bottom half position along with today’s visitors Lazio who also find themselves in the wrong half of Serie A. Palermo’s overall home record stands at 0-2-0 2/2 and their seeming inability to close down matches has been apparent in recent matches where they’ve failed to win in their last eight overall.
This trend has also continued into their home form where they’ve won just twice in their last fourteen matches on home turf including just three clean sheets during this sequence.
Visitors Lazio will be keen to get something from today’s match this afternoon in order to avoid a third successive Serrie A defeat following losses against Genoa and Udinese.
Those defeats have meant that Lazio are currently sat in a lowly 15th position with just three points to their name. Their away record stands at 0-0-2 1/4 having lost at AC Milan 1-3 and Genoa 0-1 and their form on the road has been susceptible in their last few matches as they’ve won just once from their last six on their travels.
With both teams struggling for any sort of form, I do feel though that Lazio’s luck has to change sometime and I reckon they’re worth a point here today with a view they might edge this perhaps 2-1, but I recommend backing them with the round ball here.
