Peterborough to claim maximum points at London Road

League One/Two Tips

PETERBOROUGH UNITED v BARNSLEY

Football – England – League One Betting Tips

Peterborough United continued their good recent form with a resounding 5-1 thumping of hapless Crewe Alexandra at the weekend at Gresty Road which lifted Peterborough up to 9th place and just three points adrift of Bury.

Peterborough also recorded a 2-1 win over Fleetwood Town at London Road in the match before, and they’ll be looking for more of the same against struggling Barnsley tonight as the hosts look to build up their home record which stands at  4-2-3  20/16.

The Posh have won three of their last four matches on home turf with a 4-0 win over Doncaster Rovers and a 5-3 victory over Millwall as the goals have started to flow from all areas of the pitch. Forwards Coulibaly and Maddison may be worth backing as anytime goalscorer for Peterborough this evening.

Visitors Barnsley ended a miserable run of eight League One defeats on the trot on the weekend when they overcame Oldham Athletic 2-1 at Boundary Park, but The Tykes still remain in the bottom four of the division.

Barnsley’s away record also still stands at a below-par  2-1-6  12/20 with only Colchester United (27 goals), conceding more away goals than them so far this term, and The Tykes have kept just one clean sheet out of their last 16 matches on their travels.

This should therefore hand the initiative to the hosts Peterborough United who have been free-scoring of late, particularly at London Road and they’re the third-highest goalscorer at home in the division currently. I’ll back Peterborough for the points here tonight.

Pick: Peterborough United straight win @ 2.05 William Hill
